When can I book for a tour and what forms of payment do you accept?
Tickets must be purchased in advance of our tours. Tickets can only be purchased with a major credit card from our vendor EZTix. Cash and/or walk-up traffic the day of the tours are not accepted so that restaurants have enough time to prepare to maximize the experience of tour members.
What do I receive included in my ticket purchase price?
For your investment, you will receive a 3 hour guided tour of downtown Gainesville, tastings at 5-6 restaurants, gratuity for the servers and chefs who will take care of us, a very full stomach and hopefully some priceless memories.
Do you offer gift certificates?
Yes, gift certificates are available for all tours offered. You can purchase them on our Buy Tickets page.
How much food is served on the food tour?
On the tour, there will be a significant amount of food. Think of it as a really large lunch. With the combination of food tastings along with breaks for architectural, cultural, and historical insight, most participants are comfortably full after our food tour. Please understand our food tours are not intended to replace breakfast and lunch combined, so please consider eating a light breakfast before the tour.
Can I book a private group tour or a customized tour for a private group?

How much walking will we do?
Over the course of the tour, we will walk around 1.5 miles, all on sidewalks and paved areas. And if Caroline's heart rate monitor is any indication, you could burn up to 350 calories just from the walking. Not to mention all the calories you will burn chewing!
Do your tours have anything to offer a local?
You will get the opportunity to try many downtown restaurants in one trip and you may try a dish that you might not try otherwise. We hope you'll learn something new about this special place you call home.
What if I have dietary restrictions or allergies?
Please tell us well in advance of any allergies. If you have extreme food allergies or strict dietary constraints, please contact us before purchasing tickets. If you give us advance notice we'll do our best to accommodate requests, but please note that we cannot completely guarantee our ability to make substitutions in some situations and substitutions may alter the tour tasting experience. Are any beverages served on the tour?
Water will be made available at most restaurants and we will start you off with a bottle of water as well. You may purchase other beverages from the local establishments, but we ask you pace yourself if you purchase any alcoholic beverages as they can add up quickly and we will be doing quite a bit of walking. To note: We are on a time limit at each establishment and open containers are not allowed in Gainesville, so you will have to finish your beverage before we depart for our next stop.
If I am bringing an infant/very young child, do I need to purchase a ticket for them?
If you are bringing an infant or very young child and they will not be participating in the tastings, you do not need to purchase a ticket for them. However, please do let us know if you will be attending with an infant or young child when you purchase tickets in the Notes section. We do ask that you tell us well in advance if anyone will be joining the tour as a non-participant. If you are bringing a child and plan to share your food with them, you do not need to purchase a ticket, but there will not be additional food provided to them. Also understand that our restaurants set up for the amount of tickets purchased, so there may not always be a seat available.
Are bathrooms available during the tour?
Yes, bathrooms are available during the tour at most food-tasting locations.
Are cameras allowed on the tour?
Yes. Cameras and filming are allowed during the tour. We strongly encourage participants to take photos during the tour. Our hashtag is #GainesvilleFoodTour and we can be found on social media. Check out our contact us page for the links.
We strongly encourage you do take photos as we have contests where you could be handsomely rewarded for creativity.
What if I don’t want to be in your social media?
Please make sure to ask us before the tour begins and we will accommodate your request.
Do we only walk around and sample food?
No. You will hear history and facts about the people, places and things that make Gainesville a great place to visit or live. In addition, you may get the opportunity to meet the chef or business owner to hear about the history of the restaurant or business and how they create the food are sampling. And there's always the chance that you'll make new friends!
Are dogs/pets allowed on the tour?
Since we will be entering various food establishments, and as a courtesy to the other guests on the tour, all pets, with the exception of trained service dogs, are not allowed on the tour.
What happens if it rains or snows or is very windy?
The tours are held rain, shine, wind, or snow, although snow is very rare in Gainesville. In the event of inclement weather, we will be able to go inside many of the establishments on the tour. We recommend you check the weather conditions for your day’s event and dress appropriately, and bring an umbrella for those common quick afternoon showers.
